Dr. Sunny Ibeneme

Digital Health Specialist, UNICEF East Asia Pacific Regional Office Bangkok, Thailand

Dr. Sunny Ibeneme is a Harvard trained Health Systems Strengthening Expert, Digital Health & Information System Analyst, Health Economist, Quantitative Analytics, Cartographer, and Health Policy Analyst. He is an Experienced Monitoring & Evaluation Facilitator working in complex adaptive health systems. He supports Global, Regional and National Health Systems to improve outcomes using robust frameworks. He completed his PhD at the age of 40 years from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, and a Post-doctorate at the Harvard T.H Chan School of public Health. Sunny completed a Medical degree in Nigeria in 2008, and afterwards received a Presidential Merit Award from the Nigerian president for community service in 2011. He is currently working as a Digital Health Specialist with UNICEF at the East Asia

Pacific Regional Office Bangkok, Thailand. He has also worked with the Nigerian Ministry of Health, the World Health Organization and the World Bank Group in the recent past. He championed the development and validation of the national eHealth strategy for multiple African and Asian countries, and has supported multiple United Nation agencies in developing and deploying innovative digital solutions that strengthen global health systems for the SDGs. He is well published and is happily married with a lovely daughter called ‘Keva’.
