Dr. Eric Tambo

Academic Officer, Head of Pan African Cooperation and Educational Technologies (PACET) program at United Nations University

Erick Tambo is an Academic Officer, Head of Pan African Cooperation and Educational Technologies (PACET) program at United Nations University Vice Rectorate in Europe (UNU-ViE). From 2017 until 2021, he was seconded as Research Coordinator from the United Nations University to the Pan African University Institute for Water and Energy Sciences (incl. Climate Change – PAUWES) of the African Union in Tlemcen, Algeria. He also supports from 2020 to 2021 the coordination of the Pan African Virtual and E-University (PAVEU) of the African Union in Yaoundé Cameroon.

Erick has a Doctorate Degree in Computer sciences from the FernUniversität in Hagen (Open Distance University) were he led a research group on Information and Communication Technologies for Development (ICT4D) prior to joining United Nations University (UNU) in 2012. He has broad expertise on educational technologies and computer supported teaching/learning systems for developing countries, research management in international context, Entrepreneurial Education particlualry the linkage/integration of ecosystems for innovation and entrepreneurship (tech innovation space/hub) into universities, digitalization, green and frugal Innovation in Africa, Ecosystem for Entrepreneurship in Africa, ICT in context of migration and development (Braindrain- Braingain - Brain circulation), Social Software, Open Content/Open Educational Resources. He is a fellow of the Global Young Academy (GYA), the voice of young scientist around the world.
